Heavy Vehicles RAV Network

A heavy vehicle is a vehicle that is restricted to use only roads within the “Permit Network” corresponding to its class. The Permit Networks are RAV Networks 1 to 10. RAV Network 1 includes all public roads within Western Australia except for designated exclusions. RAV Networks 2 to 10 comprise roads on which the corresponding classes of vehicles are permitted, subject to any applicable restrictions or conditions.

The City works closely with Main Roads Western Australia to manage heavy vehicle operations throughout the 91影视. Approved routes are available through the Main Roads WA RAV Mapping Tool.

In accordance with current Main Roads WA Heavy Vehicle Services requirements, operators seeking additional mass access on approved local government roads are required to notify the City via engineeringservices@cgg.wa.gov.au and Main Roads WA via HVSrouteassessments@mainroads.wa.gov.au prior to commencing operations.

The notification must include:

  • Vehicle configuration;
  • Proposed route;
  • Commodity being transported;
  • Estimated annual tonnage;
  • Expected duration of the freight task.

Information provided to the City will be used to assess the impact of the freight task on local road infrastructure and determine any applicable cost recovery charges in accordance with .

Where access is sought to a road that is not approved within the applicable RAV network, a separate route assessment may be required. Applicants should contact the City for further advice.
